IN THE ARMS OF AN ANGEL
I know I’m not worthy, and I
know not the reason why,
But, last night an angel came and
took me beyond the starry sky.
I knew not if I were dreaming,
but in my heart there was no doubt.
It matters not if I was in my body
or whether I traveled without.
The angel God sent came and
gently lifted me from my bed.
The blessing and joy I experienced
are beyond words that can be said.
He held me close, and we left the room
and out side we began to ascend.
I thought, “I’m going to heaven,“
and my joy you can’t comprehend.
I watched the world as it grew smaller.
I even noticed some snow.
I thought of the world’s pain and sorrow.
It was so easy to go.
I thought of the hope that burned in my
heart, for heaven had been my goal.
My heart was bursting with thanksgiving,
for Jesus had saved my soul.
We rose gently as upon a soft wind, and
I surveyed what was passing below.
I praised God for all that he was to me,
Oh, I was so happy to go !
I thought my joy was all complete
As I’d seen heaven before.
When I was surprised to notice,
Yes----beside me to see----
A pure white dove soared over, the
Prince of peace, mercy, and love.
He’d joined in my flight in the heavens,
as we continued ascending above.
We communicated our mutual love in silence,
for our spirits blended as one.
Oh, how many undeserved blessings we’ve
received from God through his Son!
As we passed through the stars till we rose above
them, then it seemed time was standing still…..
I looked down at all I had passed from and
Prayed only for god’s will……
I then found myself back upon my bed,
with this thought so firmly in my mind.
There are still souls lost in the darkness, still
ears and eyes that are deaf and blind.
They aren’t going to be in all that glory of heaven,
for they haven’t received Jesus into their heart.
Each of us that have found him, has a mission
And must not fail to do our part.
