CLINGING TO THE ROCK

In the storms of life I was floundering,
my life a shipwreck in the stormy sea.
No hope in my life... even a glimmer
yet, My God was always there for me!

He was my Rock in the midst to cling to.
He was my way to a future through him.
Preserving my life, giving me a reason for living.
Without His caring, I just wouldn't have been.

In the turmoil of seas full of wreckage,
He arose from the midst as my Rock of ages.
I found His Way to safety, embraced,
by my Savior, just another turn of life's pages?

Those pages have been many, many stories yet untold.
They are written in His book of remembrance.
They'll be read when I've past through these mortal borders,
when my spirit rises up to meet him at that heavenly entrance.

This pathway of disappointment, pain, and sorrow...
was not one I dreamed of a as child.
The lessons I've learned and the character molded,
through circumstances is putting it mild!

I know I would never have made it,
without God and his precious grace.
His preservation, His wonderful love.
I can t wait to be with Him face to face.

He has blessed me so with my children,
yet my childhood held no clue!
Of the mountains to climb, trials to come.
the storms to weather, it's best I never knew.

I thank Him for my parents, my heritage.
In my latter years, it is bliss!
I thank Him for dreams come true.
The journey is one I wouldn't miss.

I've seen dreams fulfilled, hearts
desires beyond my imagination.
Known six generations and counting.
Life has been good upon contemplation.

Shipwrecked lives all with shattered dreams...
look to God in the midst of the stormy seas.
He's there forever waiting, yearning, loving,
to rescue, save, and restore hope in even thee.
