May the women and men of God be bold enough to not stop short. A needy world cries out in desperation for such as these men and women alike, who are growing into the full stature of Christ, transformed into His image, coming into maturity – doing and BEING what he called us to BE AND DO in order for His will and His Kingdom to indeed be fulfilled within and upon the earth as it is in heaven.
GRACE AND JUSTICE DAUGHTERS RISE UP !!!!
FIVE SYMBOLIZES THE GRACE OF GOD AND THE NUMBER TWELVE SYMOBOLIZES HIS PERFECT GOVERNMENT.
TWELVE PROCLAIMATIONS
NUMBERS CHAPTER 1
They were” bold” and courageous, (yet submissive to the will of God and their leaders)
They” Came”
They “stood”
They” spoke”
They “addressed injustice first”
They “waited and trusted God”
They” WON “
They ” changed history “
They “changed the laws of the land”
They” paved the way for all future daughters”
They “fought in a Godly manner for justice and what was right”
They” SAID “ “WHY SHOULD IT BE THIS WAY? GIVE US OUR INHERITANCE !”
Five sisters in agreement changed the law that kept women from inheriting , in their culture this was unheard of. They set a new precedence by stepping to the forefront boldly.
Numbers 1:2 -4 There was a census taken of all those sons that were 20 years old and up that were able to go to war, according to their ancestors, those of the first twelve original tribes. They were to be numbered by their Armies.
If there were no sons the father’s name was not included in the census of Israel and his name was eliminated. Numbers ; 1; 47-54 The Levites after the tribes of their fathers were not numbered among them. Their census was separate.
Numbers 3: 12 And behold , I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of all the first born that openenth the matrix among the children of Israel: therefore the Levites are mine…. All first born belonged to God had had to be redeemed .
Numbers 26 : 2 Another census was taken and it was to determine the inheritance, of the sons. The division of the promised land .
It listed 3 generations, yet Israel had been in Egypt for hundreds of years. Some were eliminated, their family tree was no longer acknowledged, because there were no sons to carry on the name.
In studying about Deborah, you will notice she has no ancestry mentioned, only the name of her husband and where they lived. No mention of parents, or children. Could it be that was because there had been no sons, only daughters?
Yet, she had been called of God to rule among His Nation, and Judge His people. It is said she went out as a warrior with a psalm on her lips and a sword in her hand !
A women of boldness and wisdom, and courage, with a heart that sought after God. Laying her life on the line for God and His Kingdom and His people. It was interesting to note that her husband must have loved and supported her or she could not have taken this God given position and treated her with respect and honor, and it has been said that “ he was man enough to be willing to ride in the second chariot.”
The first census was taken for marching orders and ranks for war. The census was taken for equal distribution of the land for inheritance.
THE FIVE DAUGHTERS
Numbers 26:33 Zelophehad , the son of Hepher had no sons, but daughters: Their names being….
Mahliah = meaning sickness and disease
Noah = meaning rest or comfort
Hoglah = Meaning Partridge or Boxer
Milcah = meaningQueen of council
Tirzah – meaning Pleasantness
We see here in this story the preparation of the division of the land for their inheritance and it was only to go to those that had sons. Zelophehad had only daughters !
Numbers 27 : 1 THEN CAME THE DAUGHTERS OF ZELOPHEHAD.
( PRAISE GOD FOR WOMEN LIKE THIS !!!!! ) There linage went back through the ancestry of Manasseh and Joseph. If they had not stepped to the forefront and stood for justice their ancestry which was out of the lineage of Joseph would have been eliminated in Israel’s census and history.
27: 2 THEY STOOD BEFORE MOSES AND BEFORE Elizar the Priest, and before all the congregation, by the doorway of the tabernacle of meeting. SAYING
3
Our father died in the wilderness, but was not in the company of those who gathered together against the Lord, in company with Korah, but he died in his own sin; and he had no sons.
4
WHY SHOULD the name of our father be removed from among his family because he had no son ? GIVE US a possession among our father’s brothers.
5
So Moses brought their case before the Lord. (The sisters had sued for their cause, they felt it was a just cause. They took the proper channels in a bold yet Godly way. )
6
And the Lord spoke to Moses and saying “ The daughters of Zelophehad speak what is right. You shall surely GIVE THEM a procession of inheritance among their father’s brothers, and CASUE the inheritance of this father to pass to them.
7
God did not say see to it, or they can have it, or such words like that he said YOU SHALL CAUSE THEM TO RECEIVE THEIR INHERITANCE !
8
This was a first injustice righted and a change of the law concerning equal rights for daughters and God spoke it and commanded it. GOD JUDGED IT TO BE JUST AND RIGHT ! ( We are not speaking about Women’s Lib or that sort of thing, but justice under the Law and what was right , God said it was right. )
9
And you shall speak to the children of Israel saying “ If a man dies and has no son, then thou shall cause ( not allow or let , but cause ) the inheritance of the father to be passed to his daughter or daughters.
10
If, he has no daughter than you shall give his inheritance to his brothers. It was to be past to the closest relatives.
11
Inherited land was to stay within the clan and not be sold or given away.
This was a Godly quest for equal rights for women The intent was to insure that inherited land stay within the clan.
The names of Israelite children were carefully and prayerfully chosen. The names of these daughters as well as the number five meaning grace, could paint a picture of the abilities, natures, or the nature of adversities they had to over come.
We can from this picture see the tenacity, tact , and courage, the wisdom, and grace they needed to come, stand, speak before God and all the Leadership and Priests , requesting equal rights…their claim to NOT be disinherited. They were justly requesting an inheritance among God’s people.
They requested and WAITED, TRUSTING GOD and THEY RECEIVED AN INHERITANCE FOR THEMSELVES.
All five represented a balance of wisdom, a balance between a spirit of confrontation and that of cooperation. They agreed to abide by the decision made. It took real courage to take such a stand and it was a first among women in those days. They did it well and changed history and received not only for them selves, but for all daughters to come.
They addressed injustice first.
They trusted God.
They expected to receive justice.
They were willing to take a stand and were courageous enough to do it not just wish they could.
Moses spoke for them.
God defended them.
The laws were changed for ever for women, all that followed them.
What could be changed in this world and for future generations if changes were made in the spiritual realm as well as the natural IF WOMEN IN A GODLY WAY WOULD STAND UP, SPEAK AGAINST INJUSTICE AND OTHER CRITICAL MATTERS.
Women need to be bold, wise and gracefully, but boldly ARISE, STAND, SPEAK, TRUST GOD, WAIT AND BELIEVE, THEN RECEIVE that which is right and just for them selves, their children and their future generations.
God in the beginning created humans = man, male and female created he them. From them he made women and men, but we are all called to become mature SONS OF GOD, and the scripture says the whole earth is travailing , awaiting the manifestations of the Sons of God. The world desperately needs them. The Sons of God are those that are lead by the Spirit of God, that have matured as God expects them to do. It is a process.
We also come through all the furnaces of affliction and troubled waters the Bible talks about, but we endure and over come and are prepared to be what he has called us to be. May we all go on into this higher realm that he has prepared us for all these years and accomplish” on this earth His will as in heaven. “ This is God’s desire and should be our heart beat and vision. Amen , so be it ! Selah !
