WOMEN IN GOD’S SERVICE
When Ezekiel was among the captives by the river Chebar, the heavens were opened up to him and he had a vision from God. The Word of the Lord came to him and the hand of the Lord was upon him. Notice he was still among the captives in the natural, yet not in the Spirit. He was free in the Spirit. God still had his hand upon him, and was opening up revelation and heavenly things to him where he was at.
He looked and beheld a vision of living creatures. He describes them as well as he possibly is able. We all know he describes the appearances and the behavior of those he is seeing when there are not adequate words to do so.
VS 8: says The hands of a man were under their wings on their four sides and each of the four faces and wings.
9: THEIR WINGS TOUCHED ONE ANOTHER.
The creatures did not turn when they went, but each one went forth straight forward. They moved as one even though they were separate beings, in harmony and unity. You don’t hear they went different directions, but moved as one straight forward.
11: Thus were their faces. Their wings stretched upward, TWO WINGS OF EACH TOUCHED THE OTHER, and two covered their bodies. Notice how often it repeats that they touched one another !
12: And each one went straight forward, THEY WENT WHEREEVER THE SPIRIT WANTED TO GO, AND THEY DID NOT TURN WHEN THEY WENT.
13: This verse speaks of them having the appearance of torches, moving back and forth, like flashes of lightening, the fire was bright !
20: WHEREEVER THE SPIRIT WANTED TO GO, THEY WENT, BECAUSE THE SPIRIT WENT. THEY WERE ONE WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. The Spirit of God was in and moving through this combination of individuals with wings.
24: When they went I heard the noise of their wings…interesting ! Like the noise of many waters, LIKE THE VOICE OF THE ALMIGHTY, a tumult, LIKE THE NOISE OF AN ARMY and when they stood still they let down their wings….
This picture paints us a vision of God’s people moving as one, as they are only moved by God’s Spirit. They are flexible to His leading. Their wings would be positioned upward, to the side, lowered, stretched out, often touching or joined to the one next to them. Never leaving their position, or breaking rank, only following the Lord.
They did not turn aside as they went , they did not go in different directions. They only obeyed the leading of the Holy Spirit as one.
This Army of many members were only about the Lord’s will being done. Different individuals, joined in purpose, obedient, fulfilling the will of the Lord. Committed to following only Him.
I see in this picture God’s heart and what he desires from us, a unity in the Spirit, total obedience. Touching one another as we accomplish His purposes. Separate, yet one. An Army of many that have become one, surrendered to the will of God and willing to follow it where ever it takes them.
This is the vision for W.i.n.G.s
It is God’s will for all, but in the case of this particular ministry, for women to reach out and touch one another, individuals, yet becoming one in the Lord, joined in the Spirit into one man …. An Army for God. Supporting and encouraging one another as we endeavor to do his perfect will. Helping others to get their wings and learn how to use them and fly.
A blending of callings, anointing, talents, and giftings to harmonize as one and help one another accomplish God’s purposes on this earth as he wills it to be done. On earth as it is in heaven !
Jane Hamon recently did a teaching on the fact that women are God’s secret weapon. Women have a Prophetic Destiny in the Kingdom of God. We march with our men, but we need one another. We can reach out and touch lives, allow our wings to spread and touch as was the will of the God in this vision.
He has indeed given us the wings of an eagle, let us use them to soar in the Spirit as he leads and help others do likewise, fulfilling God’s purposes for our lives in the time we have been given.
We are not alive and here by accident in this time in history. God has birthed us and kept us, and is raising us up to be warriors, leaders, worshipers of the most high God. Don’t be afraid to spread your wings or to touch another with his purposes. We can accomplish much more as a unit in agreement than we could as individuals.
Indeed we are here for such a time as this.
