CROSSING THE THRESHOLD
I've crossed the threshold,
in God's embrace.
I've ceased from striving,
to rest in His grace.
I've loved Him so, but
never knew Him so well.
I've tried so hard to be worthy,
and found that I fell.
I've tried to strive and earn
heaven and my place.
I found it can't be,
it's paid for, it's grace.
I've found a deeper love that
he's poured out upon me.
As deep calls unto deep,
I've responded it's free.
It causes a flowing love,
that no words can express.
It's unmerited favor,
as God gives us His best.
We can't understand such
a love, such a Lord.
He bought our place with a
price, we could never afford.
We belong to Him and
we owe Him our all.
There's one thing he can't give,
and that is to answer His call.
"May we all open our heart's door when he knocks."
